A mini festival is to be held at Ottery St Mary’s award-winning Coldharbour Field Kitchen on Saturday, August 5.

The Summer Sessions event will feature live music by six local bands: The Barefoot Bandit, Revelation Roots, Gigi and the Grits, Tricky Situation, The Kieron Garret Quartet and The Kabins.

There will also be a fun photo booth for posing pics, a ‘secret garden’ chill-out area and a bamboo maypole with sari bunting. The Henna Peacock will be offering henna tattoos in special festival designs, and Turquoise Tree Design will be selling sari and patchwork kantha accessories.

Street food will be on sale, with vegan, vegetarian and home reared meat options, and pulled pork and vegetarian baps will be available in the evening.

Festival goers will have a choice of bars, including the Flaming Barrel Gin Bar where Coldharbour’s own gin is served from a converted horsebox, plus Utopian lager and Devon Red cider on tap, and the usual choice of wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks from the Field Kitchen bar.

The music stage will be under a stretch tent especially erected for the occasion, to provide shade from the sun or shelter from the rain for around 300 people.

The festival will run from 4pm until 11pm at the Field Kitchen, which is found at the top of Slade Road in Ottery. Parking is available in an adjacent field, or locals can walk up the lane from Yonder Street.

Tickets are £25 and can be bought in person from Coldharbour Farm Shop or the Field Kitchen, or via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-summer-sessions-tickets-642962587407
