Pupils from Tipton St John Primary School were joined by Olympian athlete Jo Pavey for a fun run which raised £180 for International Animal Rescue.

The children were helping their teacher Naomi Garrick towards her target of raising £1,000 for the charity, which rescues animals from captivity and protects wildlife habitats.

They wore animal costumes for the fun run around Tipton Fields on Monday, March 11 - and were excited to be running alongside Jo Pavey, who was dressed as a tiger.

Naomi, social secretary of Sidmouth Running Club, is fundraising in memory of her mother, who devoted her life to animals. She has already completed the Four Trigs on February 4 and the Brighton Half Marathon on February 24, dressed as a Dalmatian. On Monday, March 17 she will take part in the  20-mile Gruelling Grizzly, followed by the 22-mile Exe to Axe on April 7, also in her dog costume. She can often be seen running along Sidmouth seafront as part of her training.
