40 members of East Devon Ramblers have just returned from Northumberland where they spent a busy week walking part of the England coast path.

The group stayed in Alnwick which enabled easy access to the coast path as well as the other walks and visits that were on offer.

Some Ramblers walked 60 miles along the coast path and others chose to visit some of the castles in the area such as Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and Alnwick.

There was a trip to Holy Island and on another occasion some Ramblers took a boat ride to the Farne Islands where they saw puffins, guillemots, terns and eider as well as several colonies of grey seals.

"on another day, the group visited Alnwick. Organiser Eve Maunder said: "It was a very full week which involved lots of visits and lots of walking but a great time was had by all. East Devon Rambles meet every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and offer a variety of walks."
