It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club with some good wins recorded but also some heavy defeats.
The women’s first-team travelled to North Somerset and recorded a superb 5-0 victory. The women’s second team also played away from home with a fixture against Exe 3 but came off second best, losing 10-1.
The thirds entertained Bridgwater 2 at home and also suffered a heavy defeat, losing 0-6 but the fourth team claimed a point when they drew 2-2 in a home game against Chard 2.
The men’s firsts went down 2-4 away at Mid Somerset 1 but the second team fared better with the same score line, 4-2, in their favour, when they beat Chard 2 at home. The third team missed out on any points when they travelled to East Devon 4, losing 3-2.
This coming weekend sees just the two fourth teams scheduled to play rearranged league fixtures.
