Ottery St Mary Ladies fought back from a two-goal deficit to secure an outstanding 4-2 victory over Braunton Wanderers in the Devon Women’s Football League.

The Otters conceded twice in a sloppy opening 20 minutes but got back on track in spectacular fashion, Jasmine Case unleashing a stunning strike to reduce the arears on her debut.

After the break, Ottery significantly raised their tempo and were rewarded with an equaliser from Kaitlyn Carthew’s free-kick. The home side almost edged ahead when another free-kick, this time involving Stacey Rogers, was tipped over the bar.

Rogers would not be denied, however, as she found the target twice in the closing 15 minutes to secure a brilliant three points for the Otters. Carthew picked up Player of the Day after a display full of determination and quality, although her goal celebrations possibly need a bit of work in the coming weeks.
