Ottery St Mary Under-12s returned to action with a tremendous 3-1 victory at Culm Valley Youth Football Club on the weekend.
The young footballers honoured our late Queen with a minute’s silence before kick-off but it was the hosts who adjusted first on a warm day, grabbing the lead inside the opening 10 minutes.
The Otters regrouped and levelled the scores when Josh found the net and a composed finish from Eric meant a half-time lead for the visitors. Culm Valley came out firing after the break but the Ottery defence, led by captain Fin, stood strong.
Victory was sealed with a flowing team move and Jimi finished in style to secure a 3-1 triumph. It was a terrific game to watch and coaches Sean and Gil were hugely proud of the players. Youth football is back and the Otters already look like a powerful young side.
