The U18 team at Ottery St Mary has been in devastating form over the early weeks of the season and a 7-2 trouncing of Ilfracombe continued that trend.
Jake Haggerty and Makan Coulibaly provided the groundwork for Joel Jackson to open the scoring before Haggerty unleashed a screamer from distance for number two. Oliver Bradley fed a pass for Haydon Simpson to get among the scorers and it was 4-0 at the break, Bradley finishing an assist from Jack Drew-Cull.
Ilfracombe pulled one back early in the second period but Drew-Cull soon restored the status quo with a sweet strike from outside the box. The North Devon visitors then hit the Otters with a lovely counter-attack goal to make it 5-2.
The closing stages went back in favour of Ottery, as Finn Foster scored on the turn and a Bradley volley added some final gloss to the victory.
