The Ottery St Mary Development side, largely comprised of players from the club’s youth system, now have a healthy seven-point lead at the top of Division 6 of the Stitch2Print Devon and Exeter League.
Central 2nds became one of their victims, despite putting on a battling display and forcing goalkeeper Russ Bracey into a super save. Ottery responded with a delightful team move on 16 minutes, started and finished by Makan Coulibaly to break the deadlock.
Luke Paramore threaded a lovely pass for Coulibaly to race through on goal and, once again, he kept his cool to convert the second. Central fought back well, hitting the bar and Bracey had to intervene a couple of times to ensure the clean sheet for Ottery.
Ottery backed up this victory with a tight 1-0 win at Witheridge 2nds last weekend, Coulibaly continuing his top form by pinching the victory with a late strike.
