The footballers at Ottery St Mary have generally spent the week dusting themselves down after some tough results at senior level.
The first-team travelled to local rivals Budleigh Salterton in the Devon Football League but never really got going, as they slipped to a 6-0 defeat. The Otters face another difficult game at North Molton Sports Club this weekend.
Things were not much better for Ottery St Mary Reserves in the Devon & Exeter Premier League, going down 3-0 at Kentisbeare. The Otters are currently propping up the table and welcome Colyton on Monday night.
Ottery Ladies have enjoyed some fine results over the early weeks of the season but had no answer to Bradworthy Ladies, who ran out 5-0 winners. Thankfully, the men’s development side did provide some cheer, extending their lead at the top of Division 6 with a 2-1 win over Witheridge 2nds.
