As we head into the winter months and the dreaded prospect of waterlogged pitches, the Sidmouth Herald would love to pay homage to some of the sporting heroes of the past.
There have been so many brilliant sporting achievements from local players, participants, clubs, coaches and supporters, and we are asking readers to send in some of their sports memories from the past, even better if you have a picture as well.
From the studmarks of the Blackmore and Manstone Lane to the rolling fairways of Sidmouth GC and the lush greens of Sidmouth and Ottery bowls clubs, send your memories to tim.herbert@newsquest.co.uk and we will take it from there.
Even if it is just a picture or a few lines on a certain individual, we want to build up a catalogue of stories from the past and to remember the greats of East Devon sport.
