Ottery St Mary Football Club has paid tribute to the ‘remarkable’ Joan Burrow, who has sadly passed away.
Joan and her husband John did so much for the Otters down the years, with Joan’s legendary post-match food loved by teams from all over the leagues.
An Ottery statement said: “This remarkable lady dedicated so much time, love and energy to our club and we are forever grateful. Our heartfelt thoughts go out to all her family in this time of sorrow. Joan will be forever remembered, forever missed. Thank-you Joan.”
The comments on the Ottery St Mary AFC Facebook page sum up the depth of love and appreciation for Joan. One said: “Without people like John and Joan, the club wouldn’t be in existence today.”
