The footballers of Sidmouth Town and Ottery St Mary are heading toward the festive period with a mixture of points on the board and cup progress on their Christmas wishlists.
The Otters make a trip to South Devon this weekend to take on Paignton Saints in the League Cup. The Paignton outfit are fourth in the South & West Division of the Devon Football League and have been watching the World Cup with more interest than most, as Wales striker Kieffer Moore began his senior career with the Saints.
Sidmouth Town have an even longer journey on Saturday, as they travel to Plymouth Marjon in the South-West Peninsula League. A win for the Vikings could take them into the top ten.
Ottery have a trip to Thorverton and host North Molton SC ahead of the Christmas break, while Sidmouth host Brixham and Torridgeside before Honiton Town visit on Boxing Day.
