As we approach the summer season and hopefully a long farewell to dodgy weather, the Tolchards Devon Cricket League is looking to set up a Development League with the aim of keeping more players in the game.

Last year, research by the DCL showed that a significant number of players felt that the start and finish times of matches, alongside increasing family commitments, were curtailing their availability to play cricket.

The Development Sub-Committee of the DCL is now looking to find out whether the concept of a Development League could work in Devon. All clubs in the DCL, together with all of the remaining clubs in Devon, will have received a communication that seeks ‘expressions of interest’ in this idea.

The DCL are seeking responses to the expression of interest by Monday, February 26. Find out more here by visiting http://www.devoncricket.co.uk/dcl-consider-development-league
