The official start to Sidmouth Golf Club's season begins with two special ceremonies, writes Hugh Dorliac.
Firstly, the past season's Captains finish their year by putting out on the 18th green. This is followed by the new Captains' drive-in to herald the start of their year of office from first tee.
So, on Sunday, the club members turned out in numbers to cheer them all on before retiring to the bar for a celebratory drink or two and a delicious buffet provided by the Captain and new club caterer Jake.
Chris revealed the Captains’ Charity for the year as the Sidmouth Memory Cafe and their Chairman of Trustees, David Hodge, thanked Chris and the club for adopting the Memory Cafe as their chosen charity for 2024.
Good luck to the new Club Captain Chris Grubb, Ladies captain Heather Cowan and Seniors Captain Mike Davis.
