OPINION 'A roundup of events that have happened in Sidmouth recently'

There was a lovely atmosphere in Sidmouth during the Sidmouth Jazz Festival at the end of May. Four quality headline acts and a number of terrific sideshows ensured the weekend went off with a swing. I personally attended the Curtis Stigers and Mud Morganfield shows. Both were very different but nonetheless extremely entertaining. Indeed Curtis Stigers enjoyed the following day in Sidmouth and attended the Brand New Heavies show on the Saturday night.

Opinion Infrastructure works show Coronation is nearing

As Sidmouth gears itself up for the King’s Coronation in two weeks and the Jazz Festival at the end of May it is pleasing to see works on the town’s infrastructure now taking place. The loose manhole cover outside the post office has finally been repaired after months of sounding like gunshot after anyone drove over it. We are told that the pothole repair teams are about to accelerate their work using the monies detailed in the last budget. About blinking time I hear you say!
