SIR - So DCC’s cabinet has resolved to introduce pay and display in towns, which includes Sidmouth. Is there any resident of Sidmouth, apart from Mr S Hughes, in favour of this? If so, perhaps they could contact the Herald and we could have a full “public consultation” on this issue.
We already have 30 minutes free parking. If extra, “paid for” time is allowed, then the vehicle throughput will be reduced. In addition, our narrow pavements will be further obstructed by the necessary machinery to run the scheme.
A cynic, like me, might consider the whole scheme to be just another cash raising operation by DCC.
