Car park barrier

SIR - I refer to the article about drivers who misuse the car park at Blackmore Health Centre.

I have never understood why a barrier could not have been put up allowing drivers to enter the car park, but not allowing them to exit it until they had inserted a token, available only when checking in to the doctors’ surgery, or when actually returning or taking out a library book.

That might not limit the time spent in the car park, but, at the very least, it would ensure that those using it were also using the surgery or library.
