I was saddened to read of Dr David Hall’s death, but moved by your tributes to him (Dr helped to set up unified surgery, January 24).
My own memories of Dr. Hall, who became our family doctor when we moved to Tipton St. John in 1975, are legion.
He was, unfortunately, away when my third child was born, arriving back when she was one day old. It was a lovely, hot July day when he appeared at the double doors of the small maternity ward, and proceeded to ask how I did whilst practising golf shots down the ward and out through the french windows! He was a lovely man, with a wonderful sense of humour, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. A proper ‘family doctor’.
