SIR - Regarding the proposal from Stuart Hughes for a Park and Ride system in Sidmouth, (Herald, May 30), the ideal site for the car park must obviously be Knowle, or are our local councillors unwilling to donate any of their luxuriant surroundings for the benefit of the community?
As the Park and Ride scheme already operates from there at weekends, why not simply extend it to weekdays too?
If the Boundaries Committee decides to dispense with East Devon District Council altogether, then we will be able to build all the houses allegedly required in Sidmouth there too, solving two problems at a stroke.
