SIR - I would like to convey my grateful thanks to the people of Sidmouth who came to my aid when I became separated from my eight year old granddaughter in the Festival crowds.
Particular thanks to a Traffic Control Officer, who, I believe, is called John, and a young couple and their small daughter from The Bedford Hotel, who looked after her and loaned her warm clothing.
Thankfully we were reunited after a short, but worrying, time.
