I telephoned the council last summer just after the Sidmouth In Bloom judging, regarding the overly long grass at the front of Arcot Park.
I had hoped it would be cut for the judging. I was told that it was a health and safety issue as the old wooden fence was not a suitable anchorage for men with the lawn mowers or strimmers. I was dismayed to be informed that a tractor with a hedge trimmer would be employed, three times a year, at what cost?
So I presumed that the grass verge would be cut regularly again, now we have a new shiny, solid fence/anchorage. Unfortunately, it seems not.
