SIR - Having lived in other areas close to yacht marinas, I have found them to get very polluted with oil/fuel residues, plastics of all types and general flotsam and jetsam brought in by the tides and not allowed to clear themselves because of the harbour walls, however they may be constructed. Also, I do not think that Sidmouth can cope with the extra vehicular traffic during the summer. Whoever said the 'yachties' will probably come by sea must be living in cloud cuckoo land.
