SIR - How encouraging it was to see the large crowd gathered near the Alma Bridge on Friday, August 5, to commemorate the bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 and demonstrate our opposition to war in songs, speeches and silence.
Sidmouth Campaign Against War and visitors from CND were joined by many residents who support their view. It was heartening to receive comments and telephone calls from people who were previously unaware of the strength of feeling in the town.
