I feel I must agree with the opinion Running Wild (Sidmouth Herald, September 6),

Children are precious, they are the future, but like any young thing they must learn respect for themselves and other people and the world around them. Sadly, in many cases, this does not happen and indeed they do run wild.

Children have recently moved in to my area and they run or ride, screaming and shouting every so often well into the evening; a green space which has been a lovely spot enjoyed by lots of people for many years has now been reduced to a dirt patch with tree branches broken and rubbish left around.

This is such a shame and, as a mother and grandmother, children running wild without proper parental control seems to me irresponsible and dangerous.
