Sidford Tennis Club is celebrating netting £2,000 to give the clubhouse a makeover ahead of its 70th anniversary next year.

Club chairman Daryl Bass said: “A big thank you to the Keith Owen Fund (KOF). The clubhouse is used by the club members and other local organisations and we are really pleased to be able to offer a more comfortable environment to the community as well as some practical improvements to the club’s members.

“Next year is the tennis club’s 70th anniversary and these clubhouse improvements will feature heavily as part of our charity and celebration events.

“We would also like to help the Sid Valley Association meet Keith Owen’s vision for one million daffodils in the Sid Valley as part of these celebrations”.

Nick Keast, who presented the cheque, said the KOF was pleased to help sustain such healthy, community activities. Visit www.sidvaleassociation.org.uk for more information on the KOF.
