In a move that will bring humans even closer with food, PizzaExpress has announced that it will be removing all cutlery from its restaurants across the country.

Customers at an Exeter pizza restaurant could find their meals to be a bit of a handful under a new finger-licking change being rolled out by the chain.

PizzaExpress has announced that it will be removing all cutlery from its restaurants across the country.

All 460 restaurants will be packing away their knives, forks and spoons, as the much loved restaurant group opts to let customers eat with their hands.

A survey which took place across social media late last year showed that guests were wanting to eat their pizzas with their hands, rather than with a knife and fork. In response to this customer demand PizzaExpress worked quickly to remove all cutlery from across its restaurants.

Holly Davies, head of food at PizzaExpress says, ‘Customers have told us that they prefer to eat pizza with their hands, rather than using cutlery, so we are happy to give them exactly what they want this month.

“We’ve removed all cutlery from our restaurants to give customers the chance to try eating PizzaExpress classics with their hands including our Chocolate Glory ice cream and lasagna. It’s going to be messy!”

The no cutlery rule comes into enforcement from today (April 1) at restaurants across the country.
