The new season of club meetings and photo competitions have got off to a flying start for Sidmouth Photography Club, with a combination of in person meetings at All Saints Church and additional online content. The membership numbers have been swelled by an intake of new members with a wide variety of interests and experience, from self-professed novices to lifelong professional photographers.

This is the first season for the new internal competition “grading” system, which moves away from point scoring and individual placings, to the more qualitative system favoured by many judges. Some of the images from Comp 1 (Prints and Digital) are featured on these pages. These were amongst the images awarded the Gold Category by the judge and are assessed as being equal in merit. Perhaps readers will have their own favourites.

As the season for meetings and events has recently begun, the club welcomes anyone else with an interest in photography to join in and take advantage of the learning opportunities and, above all else, to meet like-minded people from the locality in a friendly and social club, established in Sidmouth in 1936.
