Well known Sidmouth singer and entertainer Mervyn Gratton performed in the Market Place to raise funds for the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.
Mervyn performed 53 songs over three and a half hours on Saturday, September 4, and thanks to the generous support of the public raised a total of £263.60.
Sue Vittles, manager of the Sidmouth Cancer Research shop, said: “'We are extremely grateful to Mervyn for his support and for the excellent sum that he raised which will go towards funding vital research into treatments for cancer.”
The Stand Up To Cancer campaign is currently being run by Cancer Research UK with nationwide events and special television programmes.
