TWO cars were involved in a crash on Sunday evening in Woolbrook Road, Sidmouth.
The crash happened just after 8.30pm and involved a red Ford Focus and a grey Ford Focus.
Police, fire brigade, a rapid response unit and an ambulance crew all attended the scene after members of the public reported that people were trapped in the cars.
However when the crews arrived both drivers were found to be uninjured and were not trapped. No one was taken to hospital.
The driver of the red car was a 17-year-old boy from Kidderminster and the driver of the grey car was a local person.
Firefighters and two fire engines from Sidmouth as well as the rescue equipment vehicle from Exmouth attended the scene.
The rescue equipment vehicle cleared up petrol that had leaked onto the road but the Highways Agency was also contacted to clear up the residue.
The vehicles were made safe by the fire crews and the road was clear by 10.30pm.
