A JUNCTION linking four busy roads in Ottery St Mary will be closed on Monday (September 15) so that work to combat flooding in an area of the town can begin.
Confusion had surrounded the start date of the project to install an additional drainage pipe near Slade Road after Devon County Council said it would begin on Monday (September 8).
Junctions of Chineway Road, Furzebrook, Yonder Street and Slade Road will be off limits to drivers for an estimated three weeks with numerous diversions put in place.
The addition of the extra pipe to the problem stretch from Slade Close to Slade Road and its junction with Shutes Mead will treble the water drainage capacity over the area, which has been prone to flooding.
