A new home is needed for a friendly young black cat called Bagheera.

He is eight months old and came into Axhayes Adoption Centre with another cat, after being looked after by a lady who found him as a stray.

Deputy manager Jackie Phipp described Bagheera as 'a lovely, child-friendly cat just looking for his perfect new family'.

She said: "Bagheera showed himself to be a lovable, affectionate cat who will make a lovely pet.

"He enjoys sleeping on laps, playing with toys and occasionally hunting outdoors.

"Bagheera got on fine with the children in his temporary home so he could live with a family, but he wasn't too keen on the dog.

"He came in with another cat but they seemed to prefer their own company rather than the company of other cats."
