Helpful Sidmouth College students have been thanked for their hard work with a £150 donation from the town’s Lions club.
A group of 10 sixth formers volunteered during the summer holiday to help out at the Sidmouth Lion’s annual duck derby.
The students helped by selling tickets, marshalling the course and helping to nudge the rubber ducks along as they made their way down the river to the finish line.
Members of the club said the students had been a ‘fantastic help’ and wanted to say thank-you by donating money to the school.
Jim Ingham-Hill, vice-principal, said: “The club said students were such fantastic help that they wanted to say thank you by donating £150 to the college. The college greatly appreciate the donation and are so proud of our students for being such good ambassadors for the college. The money will be spent on resources for the college that will benefit all students.”
