Quality exhibits were on display in Beer for the village’s annual flower show.
Residents entered the best of their crops, flowers and homemade wears for judging in the hope of claiming first prize.
The show is organised by the Beer Horticultural Society but is open to residents of all ages.
More than 200 people looked around the Mariners Hall when doors opened last Thursday. The event was officially opened by Monica Whyte.
Monica said: “I love the fact that this is such a traditional village get together. It just brings everyone together and it is lovely for the visitors.”
During the show, visitors could watch the Beer lace group creating intricate designs and view all of the 370 exhibits.
Among the 69 exhibitors was Imogen Heard who won £2.30 on the day for her entries.
The four-year-old, who loves painting, created a cheerleader scarecrow, flower arrangement, painted pebble, oasis design and artwork for the show.
Ursula Makepeace, president of the horticultural society, said the show received was a high number of entries considering the recent weather conditions which had damaged a number of flowers.
She added: “The quality of all the exhibits was excellent and we are absolutely delighted that so many children came to exhibit.
It was a buzzing atmosphere in the Mariners’ Hall; altogether we felt we were visited by a “happy bunch of people.”
