Police are warning motorists to be vigilant after a car was broken into in the Peak Hill Road car park.
Thieves targetted a silver Nissan Elgrand yesterday (March 16) and took a handbag.
A police spokesman said the incident took place between 2.25pm and 4pm, adding: “Whilst parked in Peak Hill Road car park in Sidmouth, someone gained entry to a silver Nissan Elgrand by unknown means and a handbag, which had been stored behind the back seat, was stolen.
“Residents are asked to be vigilant, remove all items of value from your vehicle before leaving them unattended. Report any suspicious activity you may see in and around parked vehicles to the police promptly if activity is occurring and persons are still in the vicinity.”
