Pupils starting at The King’s School in September will be sporting a new uniform, after the academy staged a consultation on the changes.
Following discussions with parents, students and staff, headteacher Rob Gammon announced the school has made ‘significant changes’ to the uniform.
Those starting in year seven in September will be expected to wear a blue blazer with school crest, a clip-on tie with house colour, plain, grey trousers, or skirt, a plain blue shirt, plain black shoes and an optional blue V-neck jumper with school logo.
The school will then enter a transition period for the remainder of pupils to wear the uniform by September 2019.
In a letter to parents, Mr Gammon said: “We made a clear commitment to listen to the views of all our stakeholders and we feel that we have made significant changes in response to the comments we received.
“We are now satisfied that we have a uniform for the future that clearly represents the aspirations of hr school community and our continuing commitment to school improvement.”
