A flood warning has been put in place for properties in Sidford and Sidbury near the River Sid.
The Environment Agency issued a number of warnings on rivers across Devon this afternoon (Monday) as many areas are expected to see 35mm of rain in 12 hours.
The EA said: “Many areas will see 35mm of rain in 12 hours, with some localised areas experiencing up to 70mm in total. Riverside properties are expected to flood first. Additionally, strong south-easterly winds may gust to 30 to 40 mph at times, which may increase leaf fall and the potential for blocked drains. The Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation and issue further updates as necessary.”
