The East Devon parliamentary constituency could swell slightly under proposed boundary changes.
As part of a move to cut the number of MPs from 650 to 600 – and make the number of electors in each constituency more equal – the Boundary Commission for England is looking at changes across the country. Under the proposals, the boundary of East Devon – currently held by Sir Hugo Swire MP - would expand north of Exeter to absorb Stoke Canon, Brampford Speke and Rewe from the Central Devon constituency.
If agreed by Parliament, the new constituencies will be in use at the next scheduled General Election in 2020. Visit www.bce2018.org.uk to comment.
