Sidbury Fair Week is under way - with visitors of all ages making the most of eight days of activities.
The events began on Saturday with a horticultural show. Entrants were hoping to be named top of the crops in a number of vegetable categories, as well as various classes for floral displays. Proceeds from the show will be donated to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. On Sunday, runners and walkers lined up at the start line for fair’s 18th fun run.
Excited schoolchildren came armed with plastic tubs on Tuesday for the throwing of the hot pennies.
On Wednesday, crowds turned out in force for Sidbury Fair Day, which included a wide range of activities including a country clay shoot, livestock and poultry sale, and the annual Jordan Cross Memorial Duck Race.
Tomorrow (Saturday) The Red Lion will host an individual skittles challenge, before the week concludes on Sunday with an equestrian pleasure ride at Sidbury Manor. The first horses will leave at 10am and the last horse no later than noon.
The event costs £10 for children and £15 for adults. For more details, call Jan Prettejohn on 0798 9436105.
