Supporters of the Admiral Nurse Campaign turned out in force to continue raising funds for the area’s first dementia specialist.
Author Jane Corry spoke at the charity lunch, at the Harbour Hotel, which was attended by 78 people
The campaign secured its £100,000 target in June to bring a dementia nurse to the Sid Valley for two years, but the charity needs to raise £50,000 a year to keep the nurse.
Jenny Brewer and Susan Davies, from the Sidmouth Victoria Comforts Fund, organised the event and a raffle, which included a £100 voucher from Wyevale garden centre.
Mrs Brewer said: “It was just a very happy day. We were looking round the various tables and everyone was chatting.”
