Both of Sidmouth Lifeboat’s boats launched at 5.34pm yesterday (Monday) to aid a 12-year-old with a leg injury.
Beer Coastguard was already on scene treating the girl at Littlecombe Shute, four miles east of Sidmouth, when the crews arrived.
The smaller lifeboat recovered the casualty and her mother from the beach and they were then transferred to the big lifeboat.
Both crews then returned to the lifeboat station, where a waiting ambulance transported the girl and her mother to hospital.
