A poet is hoping to raise money for Beer Heritage Centre through the sales of her latest poetry collection.
Sarah Acton, who moved to the village in February, has released her second pamphlet entitled, Winter Seas: Poems from the Cliffside. She has produced 50 copies and will donate £1 from each sale to the centre. The money will go towards buying ammonites, which children visiting the attraction can paint in the summer. Sarah said: “We have a lot of visitors to Beer and teaching the children to be enthused towards the history of the coast is very important.”
Since moving to the village, Sarah has become a member of the WI and an ambassador for the Jurassic Coast. She hopes to lead poetry walks to help visitors and residents connect to the landscape. Winter Seas is available from Beer Village Stores.
