Police in Ottery are urging residents to take personal items out of their vehicles after valuables worth more than £1,000 were stolen from a parked car yesterday (Thursday).
Police say thieves broke in to the Nissan X-Trail between 3pm and 4.30pm while it was parked at White Cross Cark Park on East Hill.
A force spokesperson said: “Amongst the items stolen was a pink iPhone 5, a black Mulberry wallet, Pierre Cardin glasses, a large blue leather handbag, cash and credit cards.
“Police are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time, or may have been offered the items for sale to get in touch.”
