A series of festive shows over the Christmas period helped pupils at Tipton St John Primary School raise £660 for good causes.
The cash is set to be split between international disaster charity ShelterBox, who are helping survivors of the Philippines typhoon, and the Melanesian Mission – a missionary group that supports churches in the western pacific.
The money was raised jointly by youngsters from Tipton and Feniton, who chose the charities themselves.
“Our school was flooded when I was much younger, and I found it terrifying,” said Lydia, a year six pupil at Tipton Primary. “So when I saw the pictures of the typhoon my heart really went out to them.”
