THE Lions Club of Sidmouth has focussed on the issue of sight by launching an eye health programme.
The group wants to encourage early detection and timely treatment of diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, age related macular degeneration, and the appropriate treatment for low vision with regular checks.
Lions took a proactive approach on Wednesday with the support of the management and staff at Robert Frith Optometrists in Vicarage Road.
Donated used spectacles were collected and will be sent to the Lions Club of Chichester where members sort and then dispatch them to third-world countries for reuse.
