FESTIVAL TICKETS: Tickets for the inaugural Branscombe Festival are now on sale, giving music fans the chance to see opera, jazz and classical styles in the village hall and church. Organisers hope to host the final show on the beach.

The weekend runs from July 26 to 28.

RANGER WALK: The National Trust head ranger for East Devon is leading a walk around Branscombe on Sunday (July 14) to show people the work the organisation does and the sites it manages.

Pete Blyth will be meeting visitors at the NT car park next to the Forge at 10am.

Wear suitable clothing and footwear as the paths may be muddy and will include some hills.

BEER IN BRANSCOMBE: The Masons Arms in Branscombe is hosting a festival of drinks and live music next weekend (July 19 to 21).

There will be 24 real ales and six ciders to try, and performances from the likes of Real World, a rock cover band, and some acoustic sessions.

MOVIE TIME: Beer Film Society’s last screening before they break for summer is Moonrise Kingdom, which starts at 7.30pm on Sunday. The movie is from director Wes Anderson, whose previous works include The Royal Tenenbaums and Darjeeling Limited. Tickets are £3.50 for members or £5 for non-members.

FLOWER FESTIVAL: St Michael’s Church is holding a Joseph and His Coat of Many Colours-themed flower festival from today (Saturday) until Monday. It will be open from 10am until 6pm each day.

The Mariners’ Hall is holding a coffee morning from 10am tomorrow, and on Sunday and Monday there will be light refreshments in the church from 10am.

Then, at 8pm on the final day, the Dolphin is hosting a quiz from 7.30pm.
