Ottery Town Council is back up to a full compliment after the arrival of Andrew Watmore this month as a West Hill representative.
Councillor Watmore filled the final spot on the council following the departure of Vesey Davoren on the four-member team representing the village on the town council.
He was co-opted following a vote at a meeting a fortnight ago, and hopes to get stuck in with a variety of local issues.
Mr Watmore said there has been lots of discussion about contentious local issues recently, and wants to help find resolutions and work for the community.
The 60-year-old, originally from Montrose in Scotland, moved to West Hill with his wife three years ago, and works to promote international trade for small businesses in the South West.
