Appeal against Sidmouth rugby player’s ban to be heard by RFU panel next Thursday
SIDMOUTH rugby player Mark Unsworth’s appeal against a two-and-a-half year ban imposed on him by a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel in January, will be heard by an RFU appeal panel on Thursday, March 17.
The RFC prop forward was found guilty of biting the ear of Avonmouth Old Boys player Craig Britton, “an act contrary to good sportsmanship”, during a South West League match last October.
The RFU appeal panel, sitting at the Bristol Filton Holiday Inn, will be led by Jim Sturman QC and made up of Anthony Davies and David Martin. The hearing starts at 6.30pm.
