SIDMOUTH Round Table members celebrated another successful year of fundraising by handing over more than �2,000 to help stricken people in disaster zones across the world.
SIDMOUTH Round Table members celebrated another successful year of fundraising by handing over more than �2,000 to help stricken people in disaster zones across the world.
The organisation chose disaster relief charity ShelterBox as the beneficiary of several events.
Money was raised from a local quiz night with teams from the Sid Valley. Winners were local Estate agents Harrison-Lavers and Potbury’s .
Mark Badcock, this year’s Round Table chairman raised further funds by running the 2010 London Marathon.
A total of �2,609 was handed over to ShelterBox and gratefully received by Ray Davis from Sidmouth Rotary Club.
Mr Davis said: “The members of Sidmouth Round Table have made a tremendous effort in supporting ShelterBox which is hugely appreciated. Sidmouth continues to deliver.”
