A SIDFORD representative has hailed a ‘victory for people power’ after plans to introduce pay and display parking meters across the region were halted.
East Devon District Councillor Graham Troman praised the efforts of members of the public, and other interested parties such as chambers of commerce, who campaigned against the Devon County Council (DCC) proposals.
He said: “It is a victory for people power when all interested parties of the towns or villages work with each other for the good of the community.”
