SIDMOUTH Society of Artists’ annual open air exhibition enjoyed fair weather and fine crowds on Saturday.
Up to 40 society members exhibited paintings, prints and cards in the town’s Connaught Gardens. There was a raffle for an original painting, donated by Margaret Adams, winner of last year’s Marion Ovens Award.
Exhibition officer John Evans said: “The event was well attended by artists and visitors alike and we enjoyed a sunny day.”
He said that a “good amount” had been raised through sales commissions and the sale of raffle tickets for Sidmouth Hospiscare, the society’s chosen charity for 2010. The final amount will be known after the society’s coffee morning in October.
